The Hitman’s Bodyguard- I will always love you!

Ok, it has been awhile since I saw a movie. Forgive me, things like my job and my schooling and my life and well, sorry, I just haven’t been able to get to a movie. That all changed when I had the chance to catch The Hitman’s Bodyguard.

The movie is your typical action movie and it has plenty of gun fights, car chases and explosions and for that reason I went into not expecting an Oscar winning performance from anyone and I got exactly what I expected and more!

Bodyguard extraordinaire . Not since Kevin Costner saved Whitney has a bodyguard been so cool.

The movie is about a bodyguard played by Ryan Reynolds who as he is eager to tell anyone that will listen heads a AAA rated bodyguard service for high rollers that need protecting. Everything was going great for him until one of his clients meets an untimely end and his rating ends up in the toilet quite quickly. Ryan as he is with his Deadpool character is witty and has a great delivery for some dry humor. The plot of the movie is about a Hitman played by Samuel L. Jackson so you know there will be some motherfuckers tossed around and they are tossed like grenades. I fucking loved it! Anyway I digress, the hitman is due to testify in court for some big case involving some leader of some shitty country that is resposnible for many human rights violations.  Think of the guy as a not as slick Vladmir Putin.   Of course this guy doesn’t want this hitman to testify so he orders him dead.

He is one smooth motherfucker and will let you know any chance he can.

This is where the Bodyguard comes into play and while he isn’t hired so to speak, it becomes his job to keep Kincaid ( Jackson ) alive and delivered to the court in Denmark. I won’t spoil anything but you can be sure there are a ton of bad guys, lots of great fight scenes and eventually some personal bonding time from our two guys who are trying to survive.  Who is the bad guy? Who is the good guy? Why does Ryan’s car smell like it is full of ass? You have to watch and see.

Sure there were a few things that bugged me a bit but nothing so glaring that I couldn’t just go with the flow and enjoy the flick for what it was, an escape from the bullshit that is real life.  So get some popcorn and drinks and settle in for an awesome ride!
